This creation tells a fascinating story about a challenge between two brothers, Ganesha and Kartikeya – sons of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Lord Shiva had held a competition between his sons in which each of them would have to circle the world three times and the winner would get to eat a special mango that bestowed him with knowledge and wisdom. Without further ado, Kartikeya jumped on his peacock and set out to win the challenge. Meanwhile, Lord Ganesha folded his hands and began walking around his parents. This Ma Passion creation freezes this particular moment in time. Lord Ganesha appears three times in this carving, shown at different points in his parikrama. One can notice Kartikeya on his peacock at the back of the carving as well. With all the Gods watching, Lord Ganesha wins the challenge by proving that his parents are his world.
